hi,
the moon writing system which was developed by dr. moon in 19th
sentury, is a method of reading for those who lately got blind and so
it's hard to learn braile for them.
basically, The Moon System of Embossed Reading (commonly known as the
Moon writing, Moon alphabet, Moon type or Moon code) is a
writing system for the blind, using embossed symbols mostly derived
from the Roman alphabet (but simplified). It is claimed by its
supporters to be easier to understand than Braille,
but it is mainly used by people who have lost their sight as adults,
and thus already have knowledge of the shapes of letters.
Those who are by birth or early blind, may find it difficult if they
don't know the shape of English letters.
Though I'm not sure that is there any institute of learning moon is
available in india, but you can certainly look for some resources on
web.
RNIB (royal national institute for the blinds" has extensive
collection of moon related resources. They also provides one free
moon alphabet card while more cards can be purchased at a reasonable
prize.
