Job Description
The Special Child Trust is a newly established trust fund based out of
New Delhi. Its broad objectives are to raise public awareness and
sensitivity about children with special needs and raise and deploy
funds for organizations working in the area of special needs.
What are Special Needs
Special needs encompass a variety of different conditions including
but not limited to Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, Down syndrome,
Dyslexia, Attention Deficit Disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity
Disorders and other such Learning Disabilities.
Objectives of the Organization
• Create awareness about importance of early diagnosis, parent and
teacher education, better access to therapy and related services.
• Social sensitivity towards the unique challenges faced by these
children and their families and better assimilation into mainstream
community settings.
• To be the umbrella organization for raising funds to be directed and
deployed with organizations working for children with special needs.
• Development of sustainable educational institutions with the
ultimate goal of mainstreaming such kids to the best of their
individual abilities.
• Promote the dispersion and application of global knowledge and best
practices regarding the topic within the stakeholder community.
• Establish, promote and manage special needs classrooms across as
many schools as possible.
• Annual scholarships for at least 2 practitioners interested to
pursue higher education in child development or related fields in
India or Abroad
Job Profile
Candidate will work directly with the founder and board of trustees,
be responsible for building a small team and putting together the
program infrastructure for the trust.
- Prior Experience: 3 - 5 years in program management of similar activities
- Well networked, self motivated and entrepreneurial
- Will work closely in strategy formulation with the board and operate
in a fairly independent fashion to effectuate the plan.
- Organizing dialogues with various stakeholders & creating follow up
action plans based on that
- Responsibility for driving the website and knowledge portal
