I recently purchased a Nokia N79, which also has an internal GPS. My
experience with the internal GPS has been pretty good so far. It picks up
the signal just as fast as my external globalSat receiver and I do not need
to keep the phone next to the car window or anything.
I've had about 3 long rides to new destinations purely dependent on the gps
so far and all have been successful.
The drain on the battery (which is definitely not significant) is something
I can live with for the luxury of not having to carry 2 separate devices.
This phone is newer than the n82, so, there may have been an
improvement...or maybe I've just been lucky so far.
Regards,
Manish
