Go to Settings, Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices. Switch to Sounds page, tab till you reach the Tree View and there select the New Mail Notification. Tab twice again to go to Brows and activate it and select Windows XP Notify sound file from the Media folder. Tab back and press Play and Stop Toggle button to play and test the sound.

It would be better then to save the sound scheme, so that you can switch back to it without going through all the above mentioned steps, if something like this happens in future. To save, tab back and click the Save As option and follow the dialogue box that appears. ---- Original Message ----- From: "Renuka Warrier" <[email protected]>
