Hello,

Go to Effects menu, Dynamics submenu. Under it are two options, Graphic and
Multi-band. Either of them will activate a dialogue box with several
presets in a combo box. Select one and check it using the preview option.
Press alt+p to invoke the sound preview and esc to close the preview. If you
are satisfied, activate the ok button and let sound forge do the rest in a
few seconds depending upon the size of the file.

I find gold wave feature of clipboard nois trim very handy. Though it is not
free, the demo allows you 150 keystrokes in a single session. It is enough
for ordinary user.

First copy to clipboard a sample sound you want to eliminate. Then go to
Effects menu, Filter submenu, Noise reduction dialogue box.

The first control here is a combo box of presets. Arrow down to Clipboard
noise print. Tab over to the Preview button and activate it. If it sounds
good, tab over to the Stop button. Now activate the Ok button and allow
GoldWave some time to complete the process.

All dialogue boxes in GoldWave are almost the same, a combo box of presets,
some controls for adding or removing presets, a preview and a stop button
and so on.

Best regards,
Amiyo Biswas.

Pranav,

Thank you for replying. At times we are getting directions of turning onto
right where it is obvious that we have to turn left.

Also, Would we have any advantage of registering on wayfinder? And, How
often do the maps get updated? Who would start the services such as white
and yellow pages as these would be very important for us.

As for POI's I have not found some wellknown restaurants in my area on the
map. Also, places which are off the main road are not available such as NAB
Headquarters whereas there office in Ambernath 40 km from head office is
available. Strange.

Hi Ketan,

Could you give some examples of important points that are not marked
in Mumbai? The maps are standard and the pricing has nothing to do
with the quality of the maps that are used. You can indeed register
and use mywayfinder.com. You need to set a password from your phone
and then login. Services like yellow pages are indeed not available in
India but that has nothing to do with the price that you have paid for
the product. This is a Wayfinder issue.

The local distributer of Wayfinder Navigator which is the mainstream
product is mapmyindia who you can visit at http://www.mapmyindia.com.
They may be able to help with map quality issues.

Also, do remember that areas are known by their proper names on the
maps. There are places in Delhi that are known by their common names.
These days though I can see a few common names crop up on to the maps.
I assume that the same will be true for Mumbai.

Pranav

Hi friends,

I have just installed the licensed version of wayfinder access and
realized that many of the important POI's are not mapped in Mumbai.
Besides, quite a few of the services are not available in India such
as white and yellow pages, public transport etc. I can understand
that since we are offered special price this may have happened but
would volume not work in our favour? I mean that if some of these
services were to be introduced and the maps were to be updated
periodically
would it not happen that more of us would go for it? I give credit
to Saksham for negotiating the special price and would request them to
look into it.

Also, there is no support for Indian users. We are not even
registering at mywayfinder.com. I would appreciate comments from
fellow wayfinder users. I do admit that I have started loving the
product but it is like "I have a little but would be happy with a
little more". Thank you.

Hello Sir,
It is really true. But some times even one vote can decide their five years
future. Every vote is very important in the era of unstable Indian
politics. If we could motivate one party to add our demands to its
election manifesto the remaining parties will follow the same trend.
With kind regards,
G. Janardhana Naidu.

Why should parties bother about us? We cannot influence the result of an

Dear Suryanarayana,
You are absolutely right. Elections come and go but our problems should
remain same forever. As per 2001 census 2.21 crore persons around two
percentage of Indian population is with various disabilities. In 2004
general elections no political party has touched the problems of the
differently abled. Even till today no political party included the
problems of the differently abled in to the election manifestoes of
coming Loksabha elections. India claims it is a welfare state. But what
about the welfare of the physically challenged? Is there any political
party ready to cater needs of physically challenged? How long shall we
wait for the mercy of the political leaders?
Our political participation is totally neglected. In 2004 Supreme court
of India issued guide lines for arranging ramps and Braille E V M s for
the voting of persons with disabilities which were not properly
implemented even in recent Assembly elections. As per our population of
2001 two percentage seats I.E. 11 seats should be allotted to the persons
with disabilities. Is there any political party ready to offer two
percentage of seats to the Physically challenged persons? Is it not our
political right to claim proportionate political representation? If
political participation is not provided, who will plead our rights and
problems in the Parliament?
It is the right time to educate and express our demands before the
political parties. All NGOs should together play active role in
including the demands of the differently abled in to the election
manifestoes of every political party.
With kind regards,
G. Janardhana Naidu.

Hello friends,

My conscious doesn't allow me to keep quiet without discussing the
following with all the list.

Most of our visually impaired friends off the list. You might have
observered my grievences about coins in my previous posting t5o this
list. Now I'm going to propose another way to achieve our demands to
lead a comfortable life.

It is the time for general elections Every lobbying is trying influence
the political parties through their agenda.

I feel better; if we represent our demands with the political parties.
At least they can understand what our needs are. Our demands should be
just like:

1. The act of 1995 should be implemented with zeal and courage,

2. The minting of coins should be addressed our needs,

3. Seeking more reservation in govt jobs and promotions,

4. Setting up of more computer institutes for b.h. candidates,

5. Establishment of coaching centres for civil services and other
govt jobs,

6. Betterment of working conditions of b.h. by providing computers
and other fecilities.

I hope our friends in Delhi in national level and our friends in
different capitals of respected states can do it. I ask for your
forgiveness, If I wrongly stated. Please respond me in order to uplift
our present levels. All of your suggestions are deeply appreciated.

prominent politicians to convey our grievances? Silence is one of the
