Hi!
According to my knowledge, there is no such circular for this. But as I wrote in my mail, we can ask them that where is such rule exist? We can ask for the written rule regarding this. Or simply we can ask them to give us written statement that we can not issue such reservation for a blind person in PH quota. I am sure that nobody will give you such statement in writing.
For more discussion, feel free to call me directly.

Rohiet

Hi Rohit,

Sorry to trouble once again.

Is there any circular which gives a written proof which we can submit to the railway authority in case a visually challanged is suffering and he is harassing by the railway authority to get the reserved quota?

Many people have not understood my query. The query was regarding the reserved quota not for concession quota.

Please give me your feedback to take a necessary action against the railway authority.

Regards,
Amjad

Hi!
Blind can also get the reservation in PH quota. But the reservation clarcs are not aware about it. According to them, physically handicap means only the persons with orthopedic dissability. In this case, I think we should demand the written copy of such a clause with this provision. But in fact there is a need to make a serias action for this. Because many of us are faceing such kind of problems only and only lack of knowledge and lak of willingness to cooperate from railway officials. Regarding the quota, according to my knowledge, there is 2 birth reserv in sleeper class only.
I am expecting views from other members regarding this issue.
Thanks and regards,

Subject: [AI] Query regarding railway reservation quota for the visuallychallenged.

Hello List,

I have a query regarding the special reserve quota for the blind in the indian railway in second sleeper, chair cars or in AC. How much special quota does available for the VI persons in railway to get the accommodation facility. I heard that there is no special quota for the VI persons. According to the railway website,

www.indianrail.gov.in

and the railway call centre 139, a blind cannot get the special quota to travel in any of the classes; however, the special quota is reserved for all the handicapped people.

Suppose, if a VI person wants to travel a long journey and there is no chance to confirm his/her ticket upto the date of journey. In this case, what action he has to take. There is no use to give a written application to the railway authority, because again they will commit about the same.

Friends, can we take some serious action to get this facility in the railway?

I hope, the same query may have in your mind, but it cannot be discuss yet.

Thanks and regards,

Amjad
