I would also like to share 2 very encouraging changes in TCS training and internship process. Based on the feedback we received from the trainees of the previous batches we will now be introducing two separate phases for generic & specific training. The Generic Training would focus on the basics of IS & BPO. Profiling through Mock Interviews will be done at the end of the generic training. Based on the feedback of the panel, the trainees would be segregated in to two groups depending on their strengths in IS (I.T) & BPO. The 2 groups would then undergo a 10-15 days Specific Training in the respective domains which would focus more on the practical aspects. Post the completion of the training, some of the meritorious trainees will be sent for short internships (3-6 months) in various TCS Internal functions like our internal online portal etc. This would further help in bridging the gap for employability. This quality training which was conducted during May-June 2009 at ADVANCED COMPUTER TRAINING CENTRE FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED (Venture by TATA Consultancy Services & M.N.B. Industrial Home for the Blind ) resulted in placement of most of the trainees of this course. The next batch which is of 30 to 45 days duration training will commence on 18th. May, 2009 & the interviews for selection of the candidates will be conducted at NAB Delhi on 11 April 2009. I wish to emphasize and clarify that this training is only to upgrade skills so that VI become employable & moreover TCS does not guarantee employment afteer the completion of the training. Applicants must not look at this training as a sure shot way of getting employment in TCS or any other company. There is no such commitment from TCS or NAB Delhi. However, the Endeavour is to enhance the skills of the trainees so that their chance of employment increases significantly.
