Dear Friends,
please make the following changes in the invitation from Subramani:
1. The meeting is proposed for May 16th which is a saturday
2. CIS shall be happy to host the meeting and we will undertake to provide snacks and tea for the meeting. So I propose that we waive the attendance fees, considering that no expenditure is going to be incurred by anyone to attend. We would like to encourage participation and do not wish this to be a reason for anyone to miss coming. As it happens I can appreciate that a lot of people would have to travel a long way to get here.
3. We would appreciate confirmation at the earliest.
4. Any suggestions for discussion topics are welcome.
Looking forward to meeting all of you soon, cheers, Nirmita----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]>

It has not been installed properly. after the installation is complete,
there should come a dialog box which deals with the settings. in fact, IE
8 is installed in two parts. first it uninstalls the previous version of
IE. then the computer restarts. at that time, if the connection somehow
fails and updates to IE updates are not downloaded, it creates problems.

Hello pavan,
I use creative 2GB which I think better in all aspects. Of course there are
so many in market they can give more battery back up but they may not give
much clarity in recording. It may be around Rs. 2500. Apple IPOD has some
screen reader support but it doesn't have recording support.
I hope It helps you.

cool edit pro is the most accessible. there are jaws scripts for the
software. just select the desired portion with shift plus right arrow and do
whatever you wish. I have uploaded several compositions through this
software on youtube. go to my website:
http://vpsharmaa.webs.com
and under the heading "original musical compositions", listen to some of
them and you can judge by yourself about the effectiveness of this software.
you can contact me on phone for furtner info. the number is: 09013000251.

Dear All,

I have to edit some music files, in which I have to cut a specific
portion.

Most of these files are in mp3 format.

I would like to know:

1. Which is the most accessible and easy software used for this purpose?

2. Is there any script required for that software?

3. After installing, how to use that software for cutting the particular
portion?

Actually I have no idea about this task so please explain me in simple
terms.

I am urgently expecting your good reply.
Regards,

Amar Jain.

Folks in Bangalore:

The process for long awaited second get together of AI members in
Bangalore is on. We have been thinking of holding it in May, but we need
to finalise a few things before we declare that it is definitely on.

1. The event is most likely to be on the 17 of May, Saturday.
2. The venue will be the auditorium of Centre for Internet and
Society in Cunningham Road.
3. The time will be between 1.30 pm and 5.30 pm.
4. Before we even take it as confirmed, I would like to know how
many of you are willing to participate in it? (if you are interested pl
write to me off the list confirming your participation)
5. Each one must pay an entry fee of Rs 150 which will go into
paying for snacks and other expenses.
6. We need a minimum attendance of 10 and a maximum of 20 (or more)
to proceed things further. So come out and participate. We are also
thinking of holding some useful discussion around technology or
disability related issues. Suggest if you have any topic for discussion
that will be of use to everyone.

Looking forward to your response.

Dear alumni,

With due regards I Abhishek Thakur of BA Programme III Year studying in St
Stephens College kindly request you to give me courier guidance. I have
been
selected for Master of Social Work in Tata Institute of Social Science,
Mumbai. But with regard to this I am a bit confused. There are some
questions which have popped up in my mind. I am in great dilemma whether I
should opt for this course or not? I want to know the feasibility of this
course and to what extent this course can be useful to a visually
challenged
student like me.

I know that there is placement in TISS but mostly jobs in private?s seckter

I want to know more about it.

I have scored first division in both the years of my graduation and hoping
to get first division in third year as well. I feel that I am a good
organizer and have special skills in social work field and have taken part
in several projects and assignments

I Participated in the field survey of the National Rural Employment
Guarantee Act (NREGA) in Bihar in May ? June 2008. The aim of this survey,
initiated by the G.B. Pant Social Science Institute, was to evaluate the
implementation of NREGA. The work involved visits to NREGA worksite,
interviews with NREGA workers, group discussions, verification of NREGA
records, public meetings, evaluation workshops, interactions with the
media,
and preparing draft reports.

I also worked with leprosy mission ? Dehradun in 2009.

I have no difficulty regarding field work.

My aim is to become an IAS Officer. So is MSW will help me to pursue my
dream or it will change my future planning?

Your gidence will we greatly important for me.

If there is any course which you feel apt for me then I request you to
suggest me the options. My options after I finish my graduation are masters from Delhi University, B.ED, and MSW from Tiss or preparing for IAS taking
a
year off.

Waiting for your reply with Thousands of hopes.

Thanking you for your kind attention.

Your Sincerely

Abhishek Thakur
