Does the pen drive not work on all the USB ports?
When you have more than 1 hardisk then, you can have one as master and the
other the slave.
It also helps in copying from 1 hd to the other.

The pen drive is read properly on other systems. It is just that this
compact laptop does not read.
I am not sure about the drive light glowing, but no CD is read..none at all.
What is the difference between a slave drive and a master drive?
Asking the service station to replace the HCL laptop will not work. It
is already out of warrantee. But if it is on full charge and if I
don’t use it for a day or two, it generally retains its full charge.
So there is no problem on that front.
