Amar, If you just started using Word Press, I would suggest you to first play around its themes (there are loads of them) and get acquainted with the features that it has. It has lots of widgets and apps.
I do use Word press for my blog - please visit http://www.srinivasu.org/blog/ In addition, I would suggest you to learn PHP from W3Schools and I'm pretty sure, you can customize your entire wordpress blog.
