Pranab offers some relief for the disabled

infrastructure sector

NEW DELHI: Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Monday announced some relief 
for the disabled by way of raising the eligible deductions for assessees with 
severe disability from Rs. 75,000 to Rs. 1 lakh for purposes of income tax 
calculation. He also extended the benefit of deduction in respect of interest 
paid on loans for higher education to the legal guardians of students under 
Section 80E of the IT Act.
