Amar,

1. Highlight the text you want as a heading.

2. Hit the alt key to access the ribbon bar.

3. Navigate to the home tab.

4. Use the shift+left arrow key combinate to navigate to the "styles" sub
group.

5. Activate the "quick styles" button using the space bar.

6. Select the relevant heading style using the arrow keys.

7. Hit the space bar to apply the style and bring you back to the document.

When you are ready to create the table of contents carry out the following
steps.
1. Navigate the insertion pointer to the point in the document where you
want the table to be.

2. Hit the alt key to activate the ribbon bar.

3. Navigate to the "references" property sheet.

As regards getting around word 2007, one of the best tutorials I have found
is the article on office 2007 in Infotech audio magazine. You will need to
subscribe. You can do so from the following link.

Hi,

1. Ensure that you assign a heading to each section of your document. You
need to use a heading style for this.

2. You can then create a table of contents automatically.

What version of word are you using?

Pranav
