If the numbering is automatic, I change the style of the paragraph to normal by using ctrl+shift+n. It, however, will discontinue the paragraph. If you are inside a numbered or bulleted list and you want a simple line break without a new number or a bullet, press shift+enter to insert a common line break.

As regards removing manual page breaks in ms word, I suggest the following steps:
1. Use ctrl+h to invoke the find and replace dialogue box.
2. insert ^m (caret m) in the find what field. Caret m indicates manual page break in ms word as caret p indicates paragraph.
3. Leave the replace with box blank.
4. Press ctrl+a to activate the replace all option.
5. Word will announce how many replacements have been made. Activate the ok button in the message window and press escape to close the find and replace dialogue box.

Now check the document. If it fails, you can always undo this action using ctrl+z. You can also use ^p to remove paragraphs. It works in ms word 2002 and 2003.

Best regards,
Amiyo Biswas.

Suppose if we insert numbers for points or for different paras, how do we remove them?

Hi,

If you have inserted a page break manually, then most likely it can be deleted by switching to normal view in Word 2003 or draft view in Word 2007.
