I had an opportunity to check out this phone yesterday, and was impressed
with the in-built speech software available in it. It can read text
messages, announce the name of the contact during an incoming call, read
out
the contacts in the contact list, read out the menu options, etc. The
voice
quality is not too bad.
There are several things that this speech software cannot do which
software
packages specially designed for us do, but this is a very good alternative
for someone who cannot afford to shell out extra money for specialist
speech
software.
If Nokia can be convinced to add more functionality to the existing speech
options, it could some day produce phones which are fully accessible out
of
the box, similar to Apple's IPhone.
