Divya Gupta helped cops nab cyber criminals but now handicapped, she is
being neglected by all

Three years ago she made news by helping the Gurgaon police nab
international cyber criminals. But today, when she in dire need of a job
to feed herself and her family, government organisations are not
bothered.

Twenty-five-year-old Divya Gupta, who once showed exemplary courage by
helping cops lay a trap for cyber criminals, is today waiting outside
the Northern Railway office for a job with the railways.

Divya, a resident of Gurgaon, lost her left arm when it was amputated a
year ago because of an ailment. And with that, she also lost the chance
to work with private organisations.

"My father expired three years ago and I had to take the responsibility
of my mother and younger brother. But I suffered from asthma and high
blood sugar because of which I developed an ulcer in my left arm. The
ulcer became cancerous and the limb had to be amputated," said Divya, as
she waited to meet Vivek Sahai, general manager, Northern Railway. Divya
says she wants the job to prove her capability and not as a mercy.

Divya has also forwarded her request to Railway Minister Mamata
Banerjee, who was in Delhi to inaugurate a new building at the New Delhi
Railway Station. "I am physically challenged. I am seeking the help of
the Railways as it usually has openings for the handicapped. Mamata
Banerjee has directed the general manager of Northern Railway to meet
me," she said.

Divya, who, before her illness, was working as a data operator and was
an avid Internet user, had helped the Gurgaon police expose a Nigerian
cyber scam three years ago.

"While working on the Net I came across a message that a company wanted
a trusted person with whom it could deposit $10 million. But before
taking up the work, the person had to give Rs 2 lakh. I sensed it was a
scam. So to expose them, I asked the company to send me a ticket or send
a person to meet me. An agent came to meet me and I informed the Gurgaon
police. The police nabbed the agent and the gang was exposed.

But even after helping the government, in my time of need, the
government is not helping me," said Divya.
