About Sarthak:
Sarthak is a registered Charitable Trust formed in 2008. The trust is
working for visually impaired and other disabled with its main
objectives as counseling, education, training and employment-hence
leading to total rehabilitation.
About Enable India:
Enable India is a non-profit organization working tirelessly since its
inception from 1999 towards the economic independence and dignity of
persons with disabilities. We cater to the needs of all kinds of
disabilities like visually impaired, hearing impaired, physically
disabled, mental retardation, mental illness and more across India.
Our major thrust areas are employment, pre-employment services, and
work place solutions, supplemental education, consulting and enabling
other institutions working for the disabled.
Introduction to Career Centric Computer Training:
Computer Training for the visually impaired is the greatest form of
empowerment for them. It opens up the world to them: a world of
information (aiding research, education, daily living, recreation),
people, jobs, books (print to voice). Computer training involves
training on Computer Basics, MS office, Internet using the JAWS screen
reading software which is talking software that aids the visually
impaired to “hear” everything that a sighted person would “read”.
This is an initiative from sarthak team towards giving quality
computer training for visually impaired people who have completed
their studies and seeking a job, and those who want to continue their
studies in the field of computers. Main goal of this course is to make
the candidate employable by providing computer knowledge and making
them efficient in using computers independently. This will increase
the employment opportunities, betterment of existing job, and for
higher studies. Apart from imparting computer training this course
also imparts training in life skills, attitudinal, aptitudinal skills
and communicative English.

Duration : 6 to 8 months
Timings : 9:30am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday
Date : 5 October 2009Onwards

12. Jaws Configuration
13. Microsoft Word
14. Microsoft Excel
15. Microsoft PowerPoint.
16. Internet
17. Outlook Express
18. Miscellaneous things like Scanning and reading, Printing
documents, CD Burning, Physical connections of computer, trouble
shooting etc…
19. Communication skills (inter personal work etiquette and English
language skills)
20. Employment training.

3. Tutor Training Manual
4. Self paced exercises for each concept.
5. Weekly tests and final assessment test.
6. Designed Curriculum with computer concepts and employment aspects.
7. Tactile Diagrams

9. Real world exposure through real world exercises on the computer,
10. Field visits to the bank, ATM and other places where they learn
about the usage of computers in different fields.
11. Students also carry out project work which involves requirements
gathering, planning, status reporting and execution.

Assistance for Employment will be given for the eligible candidates
after successful completion of the course
Who are eligible?
• Any visually impaired person with graduation or equivalent diploma.
12 years (PUC/+2) pass candidates may be considered on an exception
basis.
• Age should not be more than 35 years
• Who want to use computer skills for their education/ employment, and
having good communication English, and basic knowledge of mathematics
• Visually Impaired persons who can dedicate their full time for the
entire course duration
Important Note: Persons who are waiting to join other
courses/education/employment within October 2009 to April 2010 are not
eligible.

Joining Procedure:
1. Candidates have to apply for Career Centric Computer Training by
filling the joining form
2. Candidates have to attend the evaluation test
3. For out of station candidates telephonic evaluation will be
conducted on the same day.
Note: Candidates will be considered as eligible only if they pass the
evaluation tests.
Dates: Evaluation Test and Personal Interview will be on 25 and 30
September 2009
Course will commence from 5 October 2009.
