hello, if this problem is persisting while scanning with fine reader then you may simply copy the document after converting in to word document and then paste it in to new word pad document and then again copy the contents pasted in to word pad and paste in to new microsoft word document.
even i do face this kind of problem while scanning with tables so i follow the above mentioned procedure and i get the same format of table as originally appear on the page. i am using microsoft office 2003 and windows xp with fine reader 9. again i do not know this is the proper way or not but this is how i get my problem solved. again the intelectual person on the list may guide more on it. regards, mukesh jain.
