Problem to my belief more relates to text in focus rather to IE/JAWS issue.
Once opted for keeping 'user ID' in record, 'user name' always appears in the edit box as the first letter of the name is keyed in. However, until the same in on focus (underneath cursor) it is most likely to miss the 'user's name despite entering password & login.
