Dear Kailas Patel,

I do have such an account in Dena bank. My wife and I hold the joint account, I being the first account holder and my being the second. I put the thumb impression and my signs. There is no problem so far. I have heard of a circular of the type you talk about.

Subject: Re: [AI] Operating of Saving account in Bank of Baroda

Dear AI members,

I have saving account in Bank of Baroda from year 1997. It is the
extension counter in our company premises. My salary was deposited in
the bank.

I have problem of RP. From last 2 years I totally lost my vision. I
find difficult to sign the cheques. Hense from 3 months ago I have
given thumb impression to the bank for operating my saving account.
Also I have included my wife name as a joint account holder.

Now yesterday the bank officials told me that saving account can not
be operated jointly with thumb impression of first account holder and
signature of second account holder. I dont know how to proceed
further. Can anyone from the list guide me in the matter. Istheir any
circular or guidelines of RBI Regarding operating of saving accunt by
blind person. Please send it on my personnel email.
