Hi Govind, The bank has no right to reject the scribe in that case as the guideline says that the scribe should be one grade lesser than that of the stipulated eligibility criteria required for the post and not the qualification of the candidate. So, if you apply for SBI clerical exam, as the minimum eligibility criteria is 12th, a scribe with 10th class qualification should be absolutely fine.
But when I wrote my SBI entrance exam, my qualification was post graduation and my scribe's qualification was graduation i.e., the scribe was one grade lesser than that of the candidate. They allowed me to write the exam. Not only me, when I talked to some my co-recruits with PG qualification, I found that their cases were not different. But I can't advise you to do what I've done as we still don't have any right to defend ourselves in case the officials point out to the written circular. -- G.
