I don't remember exactly but if you mistake in the query syntax, you can correct it in the edit box as it preserve the query text. Should use F6 or Ctrl + F6 to move in different control. Also note, when you execute a query the focus shifts to the result pane and you may have to do F6 or Shift F6 to move to query edit. Or As an tweek alternate, you can select and copy the query text before running it so that you can simply paste and edit it for rerun. On top of everything, the behavior of preserving query text is controlable from MySQL UI (contact your SQL Trainer for more information)- I am sorry - it's been more than 4 years I have not touched SQL Hope this is helpful.
