ANNOUNCEMENT ANNUAL AWARDS OF FELICITATION- YEAR 2009-10
NATIONAL FEDERATION OF THE BLIND, KARNATAKA
In order to recognize and promote extraordinary performance of top individuals,
in the community of people with blindness from various spheres of life and to
acknowledge the effort of like minded people that have given time and resources
to make a difference in the life of the blind fellows in whichever way
possible, the Executive Committee of National Federation of the Blind (NFB),
Karnataka is pleased to announce the following awards of Felicitation for the
year 2009- 2010.
His Excellency Governor, Sri. H.R. Bhardwaj has consented to be chief guest and
felicitate all the awardees. Awardees will be awarded the award of felicitation
in the annual function of NFB, Karnataka on 2nd March 2010 at Balabhavan,
Cubbon Park, Bangalore.
The awards are for the following categories:
1. Felicitation of Meritorious Students:-
The meritorious students with blindness who have secured more than 80% marks in
their public examination of Board or University held in 2009 shall be honored
with cash prize of Rs.1000/- and a letter of citation.
The eligible individuals of this award are requested to submit their mark
sheet/certificate of their examinations along with certificate of blindness and
two pass port size photographs on or before 15th February 2010.
2. Role Model Award:-
Federation will felicitate one visually impaired men and one visually impaired
women who have been the role model for other visually impaired peers and have
explored new avenues of contribution to the strength of our nation by their
successful practice and may prove a source of motivation to other visually
impaired peers with an award of "Visually Impaired dignitary of Karnataka".
All the visually impaired resident of Karnataka, blind brothers and sisters,
who deem themselves fit for this award may apply by submitting their complete
resume and profile along with certificate of blindness and two pass port size
photos on or before 15the February 2010.
3. Honor of sighted husbands of blind women:-
Then federation shall acknowledge the revolutionary stride of those sighted men
who have married blind women by overcoming the stereo type about the
capabilities of a blind individual most relevantly in a patriarchic society
like ours.
All the sighted husband of a blind women residing in Karnataka shall be
eligible for this award. All the eligible sighted husbands of blind women are
requested to submit their resume along with profile of marriage life,
certificate of wife's blindness, proof of marriage and two joint photographs on
or before 15th February 2010.
General guidelines / Information
a. The request for each award must be reached to the office
of the federation at above mentioned address on or before 15th February 2010.
b. Applications should also be accompanied with prescribed
documents and photographs.
c. Presence of the awardees is mandatory to receive the
felicitation on the date of the award.
d. The selected awardees of each award shall be intimated at
least one week in advance through appropriate channels of communication.
