Hiya

Please find below my opinion about N86, as I had used it 6 months ago.

N86 makes a good music phone, thanks to its dedicated music keys and its standard 3.5mm headphone jack, which means you can use your own headphones without an adaptor. It also has an FM radio and an Internet radio, with good podcast support. There's plenty of storage for all your tunes, with 8GB of internal memory and a microSD memory-card slot that supports up to 16GB more. It comes with stereo dual speakers with 3D and widening effects with loud and clear voice, talks sounds very good and supports Bluetooth A2DP.

Syncing your music, videos and other data is fairly easy with the Nokia PC Suite software, which has been steadily improving over the years, advancing from crap to decent. It offers some great advantages, like the ability to sync over Bluetooth and type SMS messages on your computer before sending them to your phone, so you get to use a proper keyboard. But the music-manager part of PC Suite still doesn't compete with dedicated music software, so you might prefer to connect the N86 in mass-storage mode and sync your music with your favourite music software. That's also handy if you have a Mac, because PC Suite only works on PCs. There are sone apps and web browser, where 'Talks' doesn't support - which might be fixed in upcoming update of Talks.

The Nokia N86 doesn't break much new ground and It's not as easy to use (most difficult to browse things) comparing to the N95, E90 or the N97, for example, but it really packs in the features, and, if you can find them, there are zillions of fantastic apps out there to make it even better. Best of all, for a phone, it takes excellent photos, with almost no shutter lag. As a top-of-the-line camera phone with all the power of a smart phone, I think the N86 is worth having.

Cheers
- KG

I'm planning to purchase a new mobile phone. Before going in for N86, I want some feedback from its users. Please, tell me what are its plus and minus points? Specially, the audio quality, its ability to read text and other files, reproduction of music etc.
Sorry, if I offended anyone with my question.

Hi,

I'm madleen from uk, sorry never sent an introduction.
I've got an n86 and it's brilliant. It's fine with talks although I did
hear there is still something to be fixed with functions in the web but
that will be fixed in the next firmware which is coming soon .

It works brilliant for reproducing music with text messages or mms etc.
Feel free to ask questions about it.

It doesn't bother me but other vi people said that they find it annoying
that there is no little marker on the five.

Best wishes, Madleen

I have learnt from another list that it's e-mail program is not yet supported by talks. But talks 4.5 is going to be available soon and this problem is likely to be rectified. I suggest that you take a look at the archive of talks mailing list and it was discussed in the past.

Dear List members,

This list has proved to be a place where most of our technical queries
regarding computers, JAWS etc are getting solved based on the vast
experience of our learned members. Based on the problems posed by
members and accurate solutions provided by others I have learnt many
things in JAWS and have made many changes in JAWS also. I have even
installed Personnel Alarm posted by Sh. Ruchir a couple of months
back.

Now I would like to know how to take backup of the JAWS files in which
we have made a lot of changes. Typically one makes a lot of changes
thru Dictionary manager, Configuration Manager, Voice Profiles, JAWS
scripts for various softwares etc so that one can restore from backup
in case the software / computer crashes and one need not go out for
reinventing the wheel.

Any help shall be highly appreciated.

Regards,

Dear Subramani,

Please collect judgement details in the provided link at :
http://www.scribd.com/full/23875813?access_key=key-jpegepdg4eyhby4ho7d

It also confirms in several judgements delivered by high courts that
promotion reservation is all most necessity, however we may please be recall
here that when DOPT's Circular issued during 1998 having promotion
reservation to disabled empoyee in all groups, all grades and all posts,
however when DOPT issued an circular during 2005 stating that earlier
circulars were superseeded. How can they superseed earlier circular ? as we know under section 47 of disability act , once benefits/facilities extended
then it can not be deprieved in any manner, hence DOPT's circular issued
during 2005 is illegal and discriminated one and it can be challenged in
High Courts etc.

It also know from well-known souces that some govt.departments has
challenged Delhi High Court's judgement on promotion reservation at upper
bench, hence we await further developments.

We append an important case law of Delhi High Court on reservation for
People with Disability in promotion. It affirms that though the persons

with disability act does not specifically says so but spirit of the act
supports the reservation even in promotion and allowed petition. Link

Dear Moderator
Why should anybody be restrained from calling a spade a spade?
I reiterate that national federation of the blind is plagued by
in-fighting and it is reflecting very poorly not only on the public
image
of the blind but is also sacrificing the resources meant for bringing
about some good.
I suggest that if NFB members and officials have got so much of
aggression
in themselves, why not use it constructively for organizing some
really
powerful demonstrations to jolt governments into action?

Anyway, NGOs are not holy cows to be venerated merely because they are

NGOs.
Rather they are public bodies utilizing donations from the public and
government grants in certain cases, and must be made accountable for
what
they do or do not do.

Hello All

I am observing there is more than normal traffic on the list
presently. In
one way it is an indication of greater participation and high energy
levels amongst the members. In the other hand it is posing difficulty
to
members who get overwhealmed with enormous traffic, especially, for
those
it is not possible check mails on a daily basis.

May we restrain ourselves from postings which can be avoided or
comments
which is repetition of other postings.

I already have transaction rights enabled from a year or so.
This is what I get when I try to login with my account details on new
website:
Error
Access rights assigned to your role, may not be applicable for this
site.

I am successfully doing interbank transfers on the actual website,
but as
listed in the FAQ of this new site, I believe that for now they don't

give
us all the features which are given on original website. I am not
sure of
this, since I have not used postlogin pages. I am reffering to FAQ
no.2,
for features information:

What is special about Internet banking website for Visually
challenged
persons?

The specially designed website for visually challenged persons, is
one
step forward to provide 24x7 banking facility to them. Initially this
website is equipped with the features like Account summary, Fund
transfer
within own accounts, Transaction summary & change password facility,
any
time/anywhere. This dedicated web-site contains the relevant
information
for the visually challenged customers.

Access keys are working fine on this new site, but not on old site.
However for me that does not make much difference.
For getting authorization, I'll need to contact my branch, but my
only
fear is that if they authorize me for this one, what will happen to
my
access to the original site?
I don't think that there will be any problem with the original site's
access since this is extra site.
However without finding out properly I am not going to tell my branch
for
this, because I don't want to take any risk. As of now the actual
site is
very much accessible. So if I get proper information, it is fine
otherwise
its better to use what I have with me.
Tried to find out from SBI customercare, but as usual they are not
aware!
Hope this time my doubts are bit clear.
Regards,
Amar Jain.

Hello Mr. Jain,You can access recently little modified SBI's website
as
usual. the shortcut keys are working fine with Jaws. I have been
availing inter bank transfer facility for the lost few months
successfully. You need to request your branch for transitional
rights
to
avail inter bank or funds transfer facility. Feel free to contact
me
for
further details.

Dear Accessindians,
Please except my sincere appologies for my previous mail's one
part,
in which I have written that access keys don't work on SBI's site.
I was not at all aware that SBI has recently designed a new website
for Visually Challenged users.
I tried these access keys with the normal site, and it didn't work.
But it does work with the new website for visually challenged
users.
However the existing users may need to write to their branch so
that
your branch can authorize you for accessing this website's
postlogin
features.
I am not aware if I take permission for accessing this website,
will I
be able to access the actual website?
Because as of now this site does not allow us to do interbank
transfer
etc.
Please let me know if anyone of you are aware.
Regards
Amar Jain.

Dear Rajesh Sir and Priyush sir,
First of all, the URL is:
https://www.onlinesbi.com/sbivc.html
Alternatively, go to onlinesbi.com, and under service offerings click
on
'net banking for visually challenged'
Rajesh sir, frankly speaking, I am also of the same opinion. As of
now
the
original site is very much accessible.
The unique feature of this new site is 'deadman switch' which locks
your
username if you press alt 0. This is to secure you from physical
threts
etc.
This could be introduced in actual site itself.
Till now the only problem with SBI banking is when you transact using
your
debit card because there you have captcha.
But saying all this doesn't mean that I am commenting something wrong
on
any
initiative of bank or any person attached to it. It may be good this
is
just
my opinion. So don't misunderstand me.
Regards
Amar Jain.

What is URL of this special site?
And, why segregate the matters instead of making the original SBI
site a
bit more accessible?

Hello All

We had decided in an earlier instance that we shall not comment on the

commenting
about NFB which is getting focused in some postings.
