Donations to Prime Ministers Relief Fund etc. get 100% deduction while donations to NGOs get 50% donation.

Subject: [AI] Regarding 80G.

Hello,

I knew that donations made to certain specified funds under section 80g of the income tax act are eligible for 100% exemption from tax. Donations made to other bodies such as our Blind Persons' Association are eligible for 50% exemption. Today, I noted that the percentage of exemption is not the same in all cases. I could not find out what percentage of donation is eligible for exemption under section 80g. There is no mention of the percentage in the certificate we received from the department of income tax. The office is at an inaccessible place. Can yousuggest if I can check it online? I have already checked the ministry's web site and they do not mention anything what I already knew, i.e., 100% and 50% cases.

With Best regards,
Amiyo Biswas.
