These are basically called ERP or Enterprise Resource Planning
solutions. AP is the leader in ERP solutions and we also have Peoplesoft
which is part of Oracle.

As far as I know, SAP is a customised computer program. It is
developed especially for a user by the company that developes such
softwares. Many companies do this sort of work, but SAP is developed
by a German company. Most of the corporates use such programs for
their day to day functioning now-a-days.
