We are glad to announce the release of Swaram - the first Text to
Speech System in Malayalam, based on the festival engine. You can
download the package from
http://sourceforge.net/projects/swaram/files/Swaram.tar.gz/download
This is an alpha release primarily intended for testing purposes and
bug-fixing. This has been tested with version 1.96 of the festival
speech engine, and is expected to work on GNU/Linux distributions
which uses GNOME as the desktop interface.
This programme was developed as part of the INSIGHT project (
insight.kerala.gov.in), a joint initiative of Kerala State IT Mission
( itmission.kerala.gov.in ) and SPACE ( space-kerala.org ).
The software was developed almost entirely by the efforts of Mr. Rijoy
V, who has been working on this for the past 10 months. Kindly send in
