First of its kind in India, according to university authorities 

 

KOTTAYAM: The syndicate of the Mahatma Gandhi University, which met on 
Saturday, decided to start an Inter-University Centre for Disability Studies as 
part

of the School of Behavioural Sciences. The meeting also decided to launch 
M.Phil. programme in Disability Studies during the current academic year. 
According

to the university authorities, this was the first of its kind in India.
