The forum has sought free education for

the students.

KOCHI: The students' forum of the Kerala Federation of the Blind has urged the
government to release the benefits for visually challenged students immediately.

A release issued by the forum here said that the visually challenged students
had failed to receive the benefits in a time-bound manner.

It said that students had not received hostel grants. The forum has requested
the authorities to provide free education to the visually challenged students,
without considering the annual income of their parents.

The release said that visually challenged students could not pursue their
higher education goals following the irresponsible stance taken by the
authorities. The forum has plans to launch an agitation to press its demands.
