Disappeared. It was surely there in the morning in the "today's Paper" section. It seems they are still in the process of designing the site. Let's wait and watch for a few days. The old one still exists with all its charm anyway. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shadab Husain" <shadab...@gmail.com>

Well, I am afraid I could not find any index link on the main page.
Can you tell how to reach it? I clicked 'Site map' and got a list of
all the links available on the new website. Others can also try it.

Both the new as well as the old website carry the daily news in different
layouts. I responded in haste earlier saying that the new website is only
for news updates. The index feature in the new website appears quite good as
it gives us the option to quickly browse the topics as well as various
pages/features. However, for selecting states other than Tamil Nadu,
Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, e.g. New Delhi, one still has to rely on the
Dropdown, it seems. Besides, the New Delhi page in the new website is
carying the news of the previous day, but that is not the case with the old website. What can be the reason? Or maybe it would go normal in the days to
come.

I retract my prior point. The old Hindu site still carries the daily
news besides it's archive.

No it has changed. The daily news paper is available at:

http://www.thehindu.com

and click "today's news" on the main page. As for as accessing news
related to various states are concerned, click "index" on the main
page and it basically brings-up all sections on the very same page.
You can move to different sections by pressing 3.

Since it is a drop down combo box,the cities have to be selected by
pressing alt down errow after the Forms Mode is turned on. I think the
website is for breaking news, update and other contents, whereas the
newspaper remains on the earlier www.hindu.com which can also be
accessed
by
clicking the "today's paper" link from the website.

Subject: [AI] The Hindu's new lay out

Hello friends
From today onwards, the Hindu news paper's web lay out has completly
changed. While it is more easy to read the news updates, there are
only very few news about the states. Moreover, to select a
purticular state or city is not found to be easy. Has anyone tried
the news paper? If so, please provide your feed back.
Rgds,
Renuka.
