the Committee drafting the new Disability law met with several members of Civil 
society for 3 days from 29 September -1 October. 
Presentations were made on behalf of several of the sub committees. Some work 
has been put in by the sub commmittees and some further work has to be put in.  
Several issues were pointed out to the legal consultant NALSAR and to the 
committee.
therefore it has been decided by the committee to:
1. 9th October Concept paper drafted by  NALSAR based on the views received 
will be sent to the committee. 
2. 19 and 20th  October Full committee meeting at NALSAR
3. 20th November Draft will reach the committee
4. 26and 27 November Full committee Meeting at Delhi 
5. 30th November draft to be made public
6. 8 and 9 December Civil Society Consultation at Delhi 
7. 15th December 2010 onwards for State Consultations
31st December Draft Law will be submitted by the Committee to the Government.

There are several issues which need to be resolved. 
Harish its about time you forwarded the information on the blog to the 
Committee -SudhaKaul and to the forum on the NALSAR website. 


The rest of us still have lots of time to suggest but must do so now. 
Its really for the first time that we are getting a chance to be part of law 
making. We have fought too hard for this right lets accept it as our duty to 
contriute. After this there will still be a chance to change the draft but it 
is better to do it at this stage.
