 *
What is JAWS (Screen Reading Software)?*
JAWS, *Job Access With Speech*, offers comprehensive screen reading
capability that enables a blind or visually impaired person to use computers
similar to a sighted person. *

How does a person with vision impairment use the computer?*
1. JAWS helps the blind / VI person in typing by providing speech output
through the multimedia speakers. Hence while typing, the person is fully
aware of what is being typed. Any key or command pressed is mentioned out
loud by the software.
2. JAWS also alerts the user when any change appears on the screen such as
dialog box, menus etc. and enables the user to answer it.
3. JAWS works very well with the standard Windows applications such as *MS
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer, *etc. It is
a powerful tool that can also be *customized* for nonstandard products or
applications that are available
in the market. The customization has to be done by the trainers/technicians
familiar with JAWS. *

Which is the last date for referring a candidate?*
28th October 2010, Thursday *

How can I help?*
1. Spread the word about the course among your friends, relatives &
community so that maximum visually impaired people can take benefit of this
course.
2. Identify roles in your project / account / ISU which can be taken
up by a VI candidate. Kindly let us know about such roles.
3. Spread awareness about employability of Visually Impaired
candidates within & outside our organization.
4. Help us create a truly inclusive and diversified workplace
culture. For further queries please write to *corporate.mait...@tcs.com* or
