*About Mitra Jyothi*

Established in 1990, Mitrajyothi provides education, counseling, training in
communication & technology to persons with visual impairment with a view to
bring them into mainstream society and lead an independent life.

*What is Community Radio?*

Community radio is a radio station owned, run and maintained by a community.



*Training in All Aspects of Community Radio*



This year we have collaborated with Drishti, an NGO with long years of
expertise in media and Community Radio and we have made a joint effort for
training the visually impaired and persons with other disabilities in all
aspects of Community Radio. The course aims at the following:

·         Highlighting community issues

·         radio jockey training

·         to develop basic production  skills

·         to develop post production skills

·         technical and broadcasting aspects related to community radio**

*Course Details:*



*Duration                              :  *4 months.

*Minimum Qualifications    :  *1) PUC, 12th Std or equivalent.

2) Knowledge of English and Kannada

3) Voice quality should be good.

*Course Fee                         :    *Free of Cost.



   - 10 to 15 candidates will be selected for training.
   - Accommodation can be given to outstation candidates with minimum
   charges.
   - Applications are invited for persons with visual impairment, low vision
   and loco-motor impairment.
