Hi Kanchan,
Good opportunity!
We are forwarding your email to our Maharashtra based helpdesk callers. Hope
they write to you well in time.
Also for people who do not use internet, we can call them & let them know. For
noting their greviances & suggestions, can you suggest someone from your group
who can take their call?

It seems to be a new year gift wrap from the Judiciary of the state, and hoping
to get real goodies inside.

regards,

Subject: [AI] Maharashtra Litigation

Most of you know that we have been in court against the state Government for
the nonimplementation of the PWD Act since 2002.

We have had great orders in the past, held discussions with the Ministry on
several occasions, put the Advocate appearing for the Government on the back
foot on every date, got reams of press reports, tinkered with the policy,
courted arrests etc. however the problems have not been solved completely. In
fat the scope of the problems have increased.
Ultimately yesterday the matters came up before the Chief Justice of the Bombay
High Court who has ordered us to send in our problems in one week to the
Advocate General who will then forward it to the Ministry. there will be a
meeting in the conference room of the Court with the Chief Justice on 15th
January 2011. One of the remarks the Chief Justice made was that we should
forget our black coats and sort out the matters.

Therefore I am requesting each and every one of you who is from Maharashtra,
please send in your problems.I would be grateful if you would really apply your
minds and list out everything that is wrong for the disabled in Maharshtra. If
we get one decent order it works as a precedent in other states.
I have to compile the list by Monday and then sit with the other lawyers and
sort them out.

If anyone wants to attend the meeting on 15th January 2011 then please let me
know-NFB, NAB, BPA ahmedabad and XRCVC are invited as per the order. rajesh if
you would come it will be good.

I have no high expectations but I have crossed my fingers.
We look forward to the New Year and a new thought process and a change in
attitude.
