The windows7 start menu is very much accessible but you have to get just
used to it.But if you are inclined to changed the formatt of your start
menu
do the following
(1) Press Windows logo+M to go to desktop
(2) Press Tab key to reach to Start Menu
(3) Press Applications key to open context menu
(4) From the context menu choose Properties
(5) Choose Classic Start menu radio button and apply the changes
