The speech and vision laboratory at IIIT-Hyderabad is trying to recruit a differently abled person (visually challenged) with the following qualifications.
1. Ability and interest to work with computers 2. Ability and interest to train 30 differently abled individuals on screen reading software (in English as well as in Telugu). 3. Language qualifications: Fluent in English and Telugu 4. Duration: 4 months (Mar - June 2011) 5. Compensation/Remuneration: Around Rs 10,000/- PM. Accommodation will be provided in IIIT-H campus (if required). The selected candidate will be sent to IIT Madras on Apr 1st for a period of 2-4 weeks to undergo training. The candidate will be returning back to IIIT Hyderabad to start the training process for about 30 differently abled individuals on screen reading software. The candidate will be a part of a team consisting of 2-3 members (The other members of the team will take care of logistics about arranging computers, installing required software etc.) This recruitment is a part of Govt. sponsored project on building text-to-speech for Telugu.
