Minocha Sir,
Firefox has got an extra add on called webvisum, which is a kind of software, and wherever you find a captcha, press ctrl+alt+6, and it will send the captcha to its server, thereafter the results will be on your clipboard, which can happily be pasted on the edit box where it asks you to fill the captcha. The add on works till firefox 3.6, and more details can be found on their website: www.webvisum.com For Internet explorer there is a service which does the same thing but with the help of real persons, called solona, and more information is at: solona.net
However solona is much complicated than webvisum.
Regards
Amar Jain.

I have installed IE9, and its works OK.
however I've found some more problems with other than what Amar has
already mentioned. in some sites, when you navigate using arrow keys,
the gap between text seems to be quite a lot. can I do something about
it? I faced the issue when checking www.cricinfo.com

thanks in advance,

thanks Amar for the info.
does IE 9 come with a download manager like they have in FF? I have
somewhat started shifting to FF, but with Jaws 11, there seems to be
some problem, as it tends to get stuck, particularly when there is
flash content involved. heard IE 9 has some major improvement when it
comes to video and other flash content?

Hi,
IE 9 works with jaws with little difficulties.
The problems are following:
1. Jaws does not read the status bar and nor does it announce the
progress
while opening any page.
2. Unlike previous versions, this time file download box doesn't come in
another window, it comes in the same window itself.
Basically its not the accessibility issue, its just like how we get
chats

in
latest skype if we are on default view.
To deal with file download box, one has to first come to address bar,
then
press shift tab twice or so, you should get the cancel, and by more
shift
tabs buttons like save split, open, etc.
People say keystrokes like f6 or alt N will bring your focuss on that
dialogue, but I'm laisy in trying that :)
The address bar and search bar is intigrated into one address box. That
does
not cause any issue.
3. Sometimes in rare cases Jaws is announcing extra element information
on
web pages, but not a severe problem.
Other than this, I have not come across any other issue.
As far as firefox 4 is concerned, in terms of usability with jaws there
is
no issue. However as you rightly pointed out that webvisum is not
working
with ff4 as of now.
Please note, I am not big fan of firefox, I use only for captcha
solving,
therefore I have not explored it deeply.
IE9 has been tested with Jaws 11 by my friend, and I have been using it
with
12, and in both versions situation seems to be same.

Amar Jain.

Subject: [AI] IE9 and Jaws?

hi friends.
both Mozilla and Microsoft have come out with upgrades to their
browsers. I have read in many places including this platform that the
firefox upgrade has problems working with accessible technology like
webvisum, and hence not quite ready for use by the visually
challenged.
I would like to know what's the situation with IE9? read somewhere its
also not quite accessible? do we have some scripts?
thanks in advance,
