hello to all, as you may be aware that i am pursuing my studies in PGDBA (HRM) from symbiosis centre of distance learning, pune. for this course, we have online demand examination patern i.e. student can book their exam slots as per their convenience at the desired test centres as prescribed by the university. that means student has to just book the exam slot and just appear for the exam without following any additional formalities.
in my case, since my university has no facility of providing any assistive technology support such as, installing screen reading softwares despite my request, each and every time i need to apply for scribe approval request in advance to my university. after receiving the said request from my side, concern department of university goes through the documents of my scribe varifies at their end and on satisfaction, university forwards this documents to abtech head office and further it is forwarded to concern abtech test centre for their acknowledgement. this entire procedure is done via email. now coming to my problem. few days back if you remember i have raised one issue on the list regarding my scribe quallification wich has been objected by university. i have chosen the scribe who has passsed 12th class and the university has advised me to take the scribe who has passed with minimum graduate degree. although after my long debate with the concerned department, they have agreed to have the scribe who was under graduate at my risk. as i mentioned, each and every time, whenever i have to apply for my scribe permission, i need to send the necessary details via email and wait for the confirmation at their end at list for two days. generally, i never receive the confirmation in two days as per their normal practice to wait for two days for receiving the reply. so i need to rigorously make the follow up with them for getting the approval for my scribe. couple of times, i had to waste my exam slots bookings either for the reason of not getting the quallified scribe as suggested by them or change of scribe request is not granted. in their view, you need to apply for the scribe permision at list 15 days in advance of your exam scheduled date and in case of change of scribe you need to apply at list 7 days in advance. these kind of rules are nowhere mentioned on the prospectus or in any internal rules fraimmed by the university. despite this fact, i just have been following whatever they needed to instruct me in this behalf. now situation has become much more complicated. since a weeks time, i have been forwarding my scribe request all most everyday and making call to them just to know about the status of my request. to my surprise, university people are commenting that your mails are not reaching to us. although they have advised to cross check the correct email id and also given me the suggestion to forward the mail on different email ids wich in their view are not reaching to them. i have also tried one more suggestion given by them i.e. trying to send the same mail from different mail ids wich has also not reached to them. on the contrary, all the mails so far sent by me from my mail ids and other mails ids are appeared in my sent items. in my opinion, if these mails have not been reached to them, it could iether be returned back to me by gmail team or should have been in the draft folder. while exploring the reasons for not getting delivered these mails due to having their inbox full or might be that my antivirus has blocked the mail but this is also not the case. in the aforesaid circumstances, i feel that this is mere harassment to discourage the people with visual impairment for whom they need to do the additional routine work such as, verifying the scribe documents, sending further to concerned abtech authorities etc. in the light of the above mentioned problems faced by me, i seek for your valluable advice specifically with following points: 1 with regard to online demand examination policy, where student is free to choose the exam date, time, subject and exam centre at their convenience, claiming to be the instant procedure, is the time limit of 15 days seems worth? 2 what if i have to change scribe, 7 days notice is really required? because, the verification procedure either with earlier scribe or changed scribe is the same one. 3 in case of not reaching the mails at university and the same are appearing in my sent folder, what could be the technical reason? 4 can i ask the gmail team to give me the status of delivery of these mails? if yes, what is the procedure? 5 in case of making the grievance to any grievance redressal fforum, what kind of documents i can produce to show the delivery of my mails? apart from these points, i do also request you to give the suggestions or any suitable action that can be taken to resolve this problem. requesting your kind cooperation in this regard. -- Regards, Mukesh jain Email: [email protected] Skype: mukeshja Mob: 09977165123 "Face your deficiencies and acknowledge them; but do not let them master you.
