Dear Friends, I would like to once again request you all that cane is an accessibility device for visually challenged and let it be so. At best, if one is really intrusted to use it as a marker of once identity, then we may use words like symbol of solideraty, instead of calling it a weapon. Let us not forget that not only the artifacts can be used for multiple purposes, but words may also signify different meanings to different people and in different contexts. Let us not cary this bettle of ideas too far and limit it to the issues of accessibility; and let us not give up the modesty of language. I do not think that we are debating intentions here, we all are trying to only refine our usage.
