I think, this may be useful to those who have lost vision due to retina

Microchip to power first functional bionic eye
IANS

Researchers have unveiled a microchip which is expected to power the
first functional bionic eye.

?This is a remarkable new microchip that has brought a retinal implant
much closer to reality,? said Gregg Suaning, project leader and
associate professor with Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering,
University of New South Wales.

?At only five square millimetres, the device is tiny but represents a
significant advance in nerve stimulation technology,? said Suaning,
according to a New South Wales release.

?The design team incorporated never-before attempted features with
this design and absolutely nailed every aspect,? added Suaning.

Bionic Vision Australia director Anthony Burkitt said: ?This microchip
is at the heart of the retinal implant which stimulates the retinal
cells to elicit vision.?

Hi, no certainly it does not have internal GPS receiver, but you can
use external GPS receiver with N72. The external GPS receiver costs
you around 2800-3000. I am using it with N70 and is working fine. I am
using it with a software called "Street Hunter" developed by Third Eye
technical voluntary group. This software comes with the options for
searching online and offline for locations. Online means it takes the
map data from internet for this you need to have GPRS connectivity in
your phone. Offline means it searches for map data from the existing
data base of the software in your phone. For this you don't need the
GPRS connectivity. It is fully supported by mobile screen readers.
For more information please visit:
http://www.thirdeyetvg.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=14&Itemid=8
I am using it and found it very useful.

Hope this information is helpful.

new disability law should also have a direction regarding training
programmes for the blind employees. it is found that many blind persons
have
appointed in various departments, but, they have never been nominated for
the regular training programmes as their sighted counterparts. this
effects
his promotion also at the time of interview.

amit you can file the RTI yourself.
Banks are independent and you wil have to write to each Bank or RBI and
not
the government .

I perceive a serious flaw in the clause where the substance of
provision of carry-forward of jobs is given in case of no suitable
candidate is found.
Someone can disagree to my opinion but the fact is that mostly sectors
in Government are still not happy employing the persons with vision
impairment. In such scenario, people or employers can be bias and
carry forward the vacancies for next years and then for enable-bodied
and so on. It is happening also in the present time.
I doubt whether our Government departments, specially banking sectors
are employing the visually challenged honestly. Otherwise these so
called backlog vacancies would not have clustered and jam-packed in a
huge scale today.
I am in a favor of putting RTI in order to know that how many Visually
Impaired applicants have been hired by different Government
departments and banks as per the norms of 1% reservation to VI?s.
We need to think, experts need to give a thought and the concern
authority should work for the betterment of the above section
otherwise keep waiting, you will always listen, ?no suitable VI
candidate found and vacancy is being forwarded for next Year.?
Ultimately, the visually impaired will suffer and the jobs will be
kept in backlog on this superfluous ground.

Amit Bhatt

Dear Rakesh
Applying filters is a simple exercise but a very useful one as well
Steps to apply filters using Gmail account:
1. Go into Gmail Settings and select Label tab
2. Create a Label giving it a desired name.
3. Then go to Filters tab in Settings.
4. If suppose you want to move a mail to the label created above; you
will have to tell how Gmail should recognize that mail telling a
unique feature about it.
for example if you have selected accessindia in complete mail receit
mode you will fill [email protected] in the "TO" textfield
else if you are subscribed to accessindia in digest mode type the same
address in "FROM" textfield
5 Move to next step and skip mails from inbox and transfer to the
newly created label by selecting the label from dropdown menu.

Applying filters in thunderbird:
1 Go to Message menu and select create filter from message
2 In the open window leave default settings except choose "FROM "or
"TO" in first drop down menu and specify
[email protected] in the textfield.
3 Then in "perform actions" section select move message and the
folder to which you want to move the message and select OK

If you still face any problems contact me on my personal email address
Regards
Ayush

Dear Amar,
I do agree that social networking websites may not serve the problem
as many people are not that interested in them, I am refering some
website like inclusive planet may be. Social networking websites will
not share your e-mail ids to any one without your concern. Its
against their policies.
Coming to outlook. Yes its a solution by setting rules to sent
different mails to different folders. How many of the users can
efford a lisenced software? Instead they may go for a pairoted
version which we do not support.
If we speak to persons like me I find all free versions of software
such as NVDA for screen reading and instant bird for chatting ,
Thunder bird for emails. If you have any information how to set rules
to sent mails to different folders from thunder bird how to do it?
Its fine if we can do the same directly in gmail.
