*PUBLIC NOTIFICATION* Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for the Hearing Handicapped, Mumbai is an autonomous organization of Govt. of India, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. As a part of its activities, it also implements various Acts and Schemes pertaining to Persons with Hearing Impairment. In pursuance of the Sec.32 of Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995 appropriate government shall: a) Identify posts, in the establishment, which can be reserved for the Persons with Disability; b) At periodical intervals not exceeding three years, review the list of posts identified and up-date the list taking into consideration the developing technology. Accordingly, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment being the nodal ministry undertakes the exercise to identify/review the posts in Group A,B,C & D to be reserved for Persons with Disabilities in its Ministries/Department and Public Sector Undertakings every 3 years. The process of review is already undertaken by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to update the existing list of jobs to be identified for reservations for Persons with Disabilities. A Sub-Committee is formed to identify/review of jobs/posts in Group A,B,C & D for Persons with Hearing Impairment under the Chairpersonship of Director, AYJNIHH. The Sub-Committee has already undertaken the above exercise. The report of the Sub-Committee will be submitted to the Expert Committee formed vide order no.16-15/2010-DD.III dated 30/12/2010 of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment for notification in the gazette by June, 2011. The Chairperson of sub-committee invites suggestions/comments/views of Persons with Hearing Impairment/Parents/Disabled Persons Organizations/Disability Rights Groups/NGOs working in the field of disability rehabilitation in this regard.
