i also downloaded the same from freedom scientific website and did not face
any such problem. one thing i could not understand from your mail is that
what is the need of extracting the files. it is a .exe file and you just
need to run it.

I have downloaded the open book 9 (demo) from the freedom Scientifics'
website but could not install it. On opening the file it indicates that
the application is not properly installed and the problem can be solved by
reinstalling it. (The words i wrote are not exactly the same but it
conveys this message).
On trying to extract files it indicates that the archive is corrupt.
I seek your valuable advice to solve this problem
