On Monday i went to N I I T's institute [head office Basheer Bagh, Hyderabad.] for doing a course in programming language. before going to institute, i had telephonic conversation on last Saturday to one of the guy on the number of N I I T. on phone itself i told them very clearly about my impairment and which course i want to do. the response on call was " i know v i's are doing good in i t field , so no problem for us to take you as our student.but , once you have to come office then we can discuss on what can be done by you" when i went to institute ,one lady counseled to me, she councelled me regarding courses they have , about placements and fee structure. when she was counseling to me , i had cleared her that i am v i and how we use computers. After knowing that , also she continued her counseling. after completing i asked her what is procedure of teaching in class rooms. cause,i spoke to my friends , they told me one can manage to do programming with the help of jaws.,so i was sure we can manage to operate with jaws in lab and explained her the same without using p c. my sister did the same course from there itself, but it was 6 to 7 yrs back. at that time they used to provide separate computers to each students and that computer was connected to main computer which was used by teacher, what ever is done by her/himin there computer that used to come in students p c too. to make sure do they teach in the same way or its changed i asked them , they way of teaching in class rooms. she told me they teach with the help of projectors and slide shows. after explaining me every thing, that lady counceller told me she will talk to her head of department regarding little difficulty in class room and let me know how can they help me out with impairment.i said ok and asked her,, if you permit i will give you a demo how i use computers, but she refused for demo by saying that" no need of that. i will talk to H O D and inform you by tomorrow morning. till then, i spoke to prateek, amar,other friends and pranay sir[eye way] related to this topic they suggested me 1. we can take p d f format of the slide shows, if they can provide. 2. if they agree take slide shows in to your laptop or any external drive in advance. 3. with the help of this slide shows and p d f format get prepared in home with the help of any sighted and be prepared before entering into classroom every day. 4. even i can take help in class room itself. here amar told if it is helpful , he is ready to talk to that guys. after getting this whole information,i was waiting for her call. next day ,i waited till afternoon! there was no response from her side. then i called on N I I T's number, from there i got cell number of that counceller. i called her. she told me she spoke to H O D , he refused to take me for course in there institute. here, i was now very sure with way of teaching on projector and slide shows . . so ,again i explained her how can i study within class roomtoo. but she told ,no need of explaining me, i will put a conference call directly with H O D you can talk and explain him , but again this time also no response from her side. now i am calling to her, she is not answering my call . when i am calling to institute number security guard is answering call and telling that meeting is going on call after some time. now i need help from expertise on list what to do. 1. should i go again to institute and talk directly to head? 2. is counceller is taking lite or not making any efforts,due to lack awareness of what v i can do? 3. is any one on list who know some one over there? so that, can make them understand how a v i can also learn in there institute? 4. is it possible any one of member can talk to those guys and convince, where my was unable! so, now, i am in need of your valuable suggestions, and great help. waiting, for your positive responses. thanks in advance. regards Neha Agarwal Search for old postings at: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ To unsubscribe send a message to [email protected] with the subject unsubscribe.
