Just yesterday, freedomscientific had organized a webinar on (PDF Document Reading and Strategies with JAWS and MAGic.) Since most of the time of yours is consumed by the pdf files, just take a listen of this webinar, surely will be some help to you. I participated live in the webinar, so would like to tell you that, though, above said issues were not specifically addressed, however, it presented a grate many stratigies for navigating around the pdf files. Objectives By the end of this workshop you will understand, be able to discuss, and/or perform the following tasks, as they apply to users of screen reading software or screen magnification software: • Use the Accessibility Setup Assistant to change settings in Adobe Reader • Learn how to read PDF documents • Understand the significance of tags in PDF files • Use different strategies to obtain a better idea of why some PDF documents do not read well, or may not read at all • Test PDF documents for accessibility • Determine if a PDF document is a scanned image and not text that can be read with a screen reader • How to convert scanned image PDF documents so that they CAN be read • See how JAWS or MAGic handle secured PDF documents • Examine PDF document properties for clues as to why they read one way or another • Use the JAWS Find to search for text in PDF documents • Interact with forms and form controls, tables, hyperlinks, and more, all in PDF documents of different types NOTE: This class assumes you have Adobe® Reader® version 10 (also called Acrobat Reader X) installed.
