The main reason for the same being I am an IE user and would not want

Good to know that you have reacted fast.
Coming to it's operation, usually after typing a word, we either hit
enter or space bar. If we type a spelling wrong, it will give a beep
sound. Once you hear that sound, you will come to know that you have
typed something wrong. Then press down arrow to get a list of nearer
correct spellings. Press enter on the word of your choice, and the
wrong spelling gets replaced by the correct spelling you have selected
in the list.
There are a few things to note;
1. Since it doesn't differentiate nouns from other words, you will
hear the beep even after typing any name. don't get confused.
2. Disable the software in windows as there would be some songs,
photos, etc. which it shows as wrong spelling.
3. One major disadvantage with the software is that when you type a
password on a web page, it displays the actual characters when you
press enter. Be careful with the sighted people around you.

Just google around, it's a free software. The name is "Tiny Spell".
Alternatively you can switch to e-mail clients like MS Outlook.
