I believe walk man recordings are analogue and the way to transfer them to PC is to connect the two by a line-in port and play the files and record them on PC by using some audio recording software in real time. They have, however, to be fine tuned and edited for noise reduction etc. A line-in port is essentially a wire with pins at both the ends.
This method is cumbersome and I would love to know any other faster method. There are many invaluable cassettes with me waiting to be digitized. Apart from content value, there is priceless hard effort of numerous people who have lent their voices for recording such cassettes.
