Hi Asif,

We have received a call from Bareli in Uttar Pradesh and the person was not
allowed to register for UID. He was told that since he has retina problem,
they don't have any instructions for registration of such people and will
need to wait for couple of months. They have told that a new software is
likely to come and then only they will be able to rregister such people. He
was not even allowed to check if his iris can be captured or not.

1. What could be the possible action to insure registration for UID being a
person with disability where the personell responsible for doing the
registration are not sensetive enough towards people with disabilities?
2. Is there any document available stating provisions for registration of
such people whose Iris can not be captured?

Hoping for your response at the earliest.

Hi shivaji,
Apology on behalf of UIDAI. Ideally this should not have happened. I did
take note of your complain and forwarded it to Regional office, Mumbai for
their necessary action in this regards.
People!!!
Special camp for person with disability will be launch shortly in
maharastra. Dates are yet to be decided. I will certainly inform you when
dates is fixed.
I personally have witness smooth enrollment for disabled at Karnataka,
Jharkhand, Andra Pradesh and Pudicherry. It is very clear that enrollment
agency is not sensitive at maharastra.
It would be great help if you could provide more information in this case
enabling me to take it up on priority basis.
Asif

Subject: [AI] Hallo access Indians!

I have a query regarding UID.
One of our friends could not complete the process. She was told, that
since she is blind, they cannot scan her eyes and hence the process
cannot move further.
We are facing this problem in Pune.
Waiting for necessary guidance in this concern,
Shivaji
