Hai friends,
As we know talks is a text to speech software. The speech do consume
more power than just displaying text. I from my personal experience
and of my friends noticed that in some sets like N72 and the like the
battery is easily discharged after the talks is installed. This change
is easily understandable if we look in to specifications of the phone.
there we see the change in battery life for standby time and talking
time. The installation of the software itself doesn’t consume power.
But the use of the software consume power. I minimize the consumption
in the following way.
First I enable the ‘Mute on key lock’ option in talks.

Then I raises the pitch of the voice to 3 so that I can understand the
speech in low volumes. [I am using eloquence read as my voice.]
1.
Finally I minimize the volume as low as it is enough for me.
With regards
Jaison Bellarmine.
