Yes you can have a separate profile to be used during your class room. But you should bear a couple of things in mind. First, there is an option to turn-off hard disk after sometime and make sure that it is set to none. Otherwise it is a pain in the neck to wake-up your computer from the sleep mode and it happens if you don't touch your keyboard or mouse for the specified time. You can set the monitor to go-off automatically after a minute. Second, you may also wish to consider the possibility of recording your lectures rather than concentrating on typing this is indeed annoying if the professor expects to engage in class participation. But it's individual preference and henceforth I would not like to emphasize something particular in this regard.
