hissing voice is supposed to be an improvement in terms of voice quality. However it sounds better in some phones than others. For example, My Nokia N97 mini sounds far better than the N82. In other words, the sound quality is dependent on your phone model. If you are so annoyed about the hissing sound, then you have the option to install the lower bit version of eloquence which also consumes less memory.
