Do please go thru the below mail and give your suggestions at the earliest
please do send in your replies latest by today night itself. as I will be
fairing and sending it to higher authorities who are in contact with me and
says that,
now is the best time for making a change at all India level.
so demand what ever is required and which will be useful for all the SBI
employees.
I am personally going to have a meeting with the welfare secretary and further.
So hoping for your early action and suggestion.
Will also keep you posted as the meetings take place.
Grievances problems and suggestions of SBI Visually impaired Employees:
Thanks for accepting us as member of our organization.
Hence you are giving us chance to perform social obligations to some extent
towards our society.
So far, Our contribution to the organization is meager. this can be
improved by implementing some innovating programs.
Grievances and problems and suggestions:
Visually impaired employees face problems at initial stages ,I.e. from
applying till the Joining in the bank.
1. Scribe: the terms and conditions of seeking scribe are first obstacle in
getting admission, due to few difficult conditions.
Firstly scribe should be one degree lower.
Secondly scribe's percentage should not be higher than the eligible candidate
appearing for examination
Suggestion: (1.) Allow scribe to one division {STD} lower.
(2). There should not be any restrictions on scribe's secured percentage for
writing examination.
2. Ignorance of job allotment.
As and when a visually impaired candidate is appointed, branch manager finds
it difficult to allot jobs. It is due to inadequate information and idea. Hence
visually impaired person has to brief to convince the manager to seek some job
for him or her.
Suggestion: during the officer's training they should be briefed about
visually impaired challenged job ability and the way one could extend the
support to extract the performance from them.
If possible Include A chapter on PWD's problems and how to tackle, and there
ability to work.
3. Telephone operators post is almost on the verge of being abolished and
their promotion criteria is difficult. Hence their chances are deemed for the
same.
Suggestions: please allow the visually impaired telephone operator to convert
without affecting the current allowance or allow conversion on parallel ground.
For e.g. senior telephone operator to senior assistant.
4. Today's world is I T base, bank has many job which visually impaired
person can handle it efficiently. Due to know proper information branch manager
hesitates to allot computer related jobs.
Suggestions: (1). Availability of special software screen reader Jaws for
reading and writing.
(2.) OCR software like kertzwale to scan and read the hard printed material.
(3.) Please check the compatibility and accessibility of the screen reader
software with banking program and softwares like core banking etc.
(4.)Make some of the operating machines like Green channel, ATM more user
friendly by extending support of talking program / Voice instructions and
commands.
5. With great difficulties visually impaired persons are accepted for
officers post. They are eligible to promotional examination externally but
telephone operators are not allowed internal promotional examination.
Suggestions: promotional examination for officers should be made open to all
the visually impaired employees internally as well as externally.
6. The working condition for visually impaired should be made more accessible
and adoptable under the purview of disability act 1995.
We therefore request you to consider the above and implement the necessary
Changes for our and organization's benefit.
